Description

In Agios Ilias, a village with approximately 350 inhabitants, we can find three settlements, Agios Ilias, Stamateleika and Pyrgi. A special place in the village is occupied by Piera Pigi, which was located on the north side of the village and was the first stop in ancient times when the Olympic Games were held where everyone left Elis for Ancient Olympia. Rituals were also held there to purify the judges and the athletes.
