Description
It is one of the most important rivers of the Peloponnese. It is the largest river of the Peloponnese both in terms of length and water volume and its total length is 116 km. In ancient times, Alfios was worshiped as a deity above and above Zeus. For this reason it was depicted on the pediment of the temple of Olympian Zeus in ancient Olympia. Nowadays in Alfios many athletes descend with an inflatable boat and it is an impressive route for rafting in Greece with continuous technical passages.
