The Public Central Library of Pyrgos is a beacon of culture and knowledge in the city of Pyrgos.
On its shelves, it gathers a huge catalog of books, archives of magazines and newspapers, as well as untranslated foreign literature, while the oldest book in its possession was printed in 1564, in Venice.
It is noteworthy that in recent years, it has participated in the program of the non-profit organization Future Library, which, with exclusive funding from the "Stavros Niarchos" Foundation, contributes to the promotion of reading, innovation and creativity. In this context, it organizes various events, such as book presentations, speeches, exhibitions, activities for children, as well as tributes to writers.
